The last year has been a very exciting one at eConnect cars. Not only has it been the year in which our service was launched but also a year of growth and development which has led to some of our achievements being recognised through a number of National awards.

The Year in Statistics

2Our cars have driven over 93,000 miles during the year making over 10,500 journeys, delivering passengers to their destination on time. As our cars produce zero emissions this has helped to save over 40 Tonnes* of harmful CO2 emissions entering the atmosphere in London helping the effort towards cleaner air quality.

To put this into perspective from a customer’s point of view, if you used our service to travel 10 miles on average every week throughout the year you would have saved almost 225Kg of CO2 emissions. That’s 112.5 cubic meters of harmful emissions saved, enough to fill 450 bathtubs or inflate 7,500 party balloons.

Our GoldPower initiative has helped to sustain an area in rural Turkey and generate 67,000 MWh of clean renewable energy. 25,000 people in the local community have benefited from the scheme.

Building on our infrastructure

4During the year we have tripled our fleet of top of the range Nissan Leaf Teknas, providing more capacity for our customers throughout the London area. This will continue to grow in the months and years to come.

Along with increasing the size of our fleet we have recruited exceptional drivers who have many hours experience driving through London and a high standard of customer care and wellbeing.

We have invested heavily in our systems with a new class-leading booking and dispatch system, which is now fully operational, allowing us to deliver a business class service at a higher volume.

Our new website and account sign up process went live towards the end of the year and was very well received. This has helped streamline our services for our new and existing customers alike. We expect to be launching customer focused smartphone applications during 2015.

Awards success

SE49464_eConnect-winnerWe were delighted to have been recognised at not one but three major national awards ceremonies for our quality of service, innovation and environmental awareness.

We were recognised at the Energy Saving Trust Fleet Hero Awards winning the Plugged in Fleets category, where we were described as having “demonstrated a real-world business case which [the Energy Saving Trust] are very sure many competitors will look to emulate in future”, and hailed as runners up as the Transport Solutions Supplier of the year.

The GreenFleet Awards honoured us with their ‘Private Hire/Taxi Company of the Year’ award, which rewards companies that incorporate a strong environmental policy within their business and are dedicated to cutting CO2 emissions within their fleet.

The Professional Driver Quality Service and Innovation Awards value excellence within the chauffeur and private hire industry. We were awarded the Gold medal winning the Environmental Award.
