fleet hero awards

The Fleet Hero Awards is a very important event for any company that operates a fleet of vehicles. It is an awards ceremony that celebrates sustainable fleet management in both the public and private sector.

Run by the Energy Saving Trust the Fleet Hero Awards identify and applaud companies and organisations that work hard to reduce fuel bills and cut carbon emissions through new ideas, transport policies and improved efficiency. With 10 categories the awards recognise individuals, organisations and suppliers across the industry.

We are delighted to announce that eConnect cars were honoured with two awards; winning the Plugged in Fleets category and hailed as runners up in the Transport Solutions Supplier of the year.

Baroness Kramer presented the award to Alistair Clarke, MD and founder of eConnect cars

The judges of the Plugged in Fleets category said of our entry, “Having a fleet comprised entirely of plug in electric vehicles wasn’t enough to win. The winner (eConnect cars) demonstrated a real-world business case which we are very sure many competitors will look to emulate in future.”

The Transport Solutions Supplier award is focused on organisations who operate low carbon vehicles and demonstrate real progress at reducing carbon emissions throughout their business.

This year’s Fleet Hero Awards were held at the Institute of Directors and hosted by automotive journalist and electric vehicle enthusiast Quentin Willson.

Members of the eConnect team also attended the Motorvate Conference, which preceded the Fleet Hero Awards.

With sessions focusing on electric vehicles, their effectiveness, desirability and optimising them for fleet use, it was a good forum for discussion to support the electric motor industry.

Motorvate was closed by keynote speaker Michael Hurwitz, director – energy technology, international, Department for Transport.
