As pollution from transport topped the agenda at this week’s UN Climate Change Conference in Paris one particular London taxi firm – eConnect Cars – has been leading the change closer to home, offering real solutions.
Since its inception in January 2014 eConnect Cars mission has been to provide London with its first zero emission chauffeur driven car service using a fleet comprising solely of electric cars; the Nissan Leaf and Tesla Model S. They therefore provide a way for individuals to make a difference locally just by switching their taxi provider, and from the accolades and awards it has won it is clear that their solution has been extremely well received.
Following several awards in its first year of trading, eConnect Cars has succeeded in winning another 3 major national awards in its second year, along with a commendation, and is also on the shortlist for two Business Travel Award in January 2016; Best Specialist Business Travel Service and Best Ground Transportation.
eConnect won the New Start Business and Environmental award at the prestigious Professional Driver QSI awards, the only national awards for the private hire and chauffeur industry. Pro Driver magazine editor Mark Bursa said: “eConnect Cars has carved out a new niche all of its own in just two years.
eConnect’s green ethos runs deep, but the rest of its operation is extremely thorough, with innovative partnerships and extensive driver training, giving an enormously professional operation that belies its young existence.”
Last week, eConnect added to this success by winning the Energy Saving Trust, Fleet Hero award for Plug-in taxi or private hire initiative. The award was presented to eConnect Cars Managing Director, Alistair Clarke by the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, Andrew Jones MP.
With the current commitments on greenhouse gas emissions running out in 2020, a new deal must be brokered to control emissions, however eConnect and their many customers are well ahead of the game as they continue to make a significant difference to our environment daily. Furthermore, with new legislation being implemented globally, transport for the public and businesses are being thrust into sharper focus and London based schemes such as the Ultra-Low Emissions Zone, to come into force in 2018, have highlighted the importance of environmentally forward thinking companies such as eConnect Cars.
Managing Director, Alistair Clarke said: “we absolutely welcome these changes and are very much up for the challenge of helping our customers and London to meet and beat their ultra low emission targets. We have ambitious plans to grow our fleet and offer to the public”.
With growing trends towards massive changes in transport and CO2 emissions, eConnect Cars has entered into the next phase of its growth by launching a crowdfunding campaign.
With over 25% of its £400,000 fund raising target achieved in the first week Alistair Clarke is inviting investors small and large to support the company’s growth plans by going to http://bit.ly/econnect_crowdcube and investing now from as little as £10, less than the average 2 mile fare in a London Black cab.
