London Metropolitan University

eConnect cars are excited to announce that we will be working closely with London Metropolitan University through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership.

Having been successful in our application we have been awarded a grant from the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) to develop a bespoke software application.

The use of electric cars in London is increasing fast and there is a growing requirement for the operational aspects of every expanding electric fleet to be ever more efficient in terms of traffic volume, charging, energy consumption and the allocation of appropriate resources for each journey.

Important innovations such as the new Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ), set to come into force in central London by 2020, will precipitate a much greater adoption of electric vehicles by both business and the public.

This new solution will be designed to facilitate the large-scale use of electric vehicles within our business to further improve fleet and car efficiency, customer service and driver experience.

Alistair Clarke, Owner and MD of eConnect cars said, “We are very proud to be working with London Metropolitan University on this exciting new venture. Implementing new technology positively and effectively is one of our core values. We were one of the first London private hire companies to run a top of the range all electric fleet of cars. Our bookings and management systems are already best in class and this relationship will ensure we continue to push boundaries and provide an ever better and more efficient service for our customers.

This exciting opportunity is a fixed-term position for 24 months advertised by the London Metropolitan University’s School of Computing.
